In a large bowl, combine the shredded sweetened coconut, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until thoroughly combined.

In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the coconut mixture until just combined. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites too much.

Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small mounds. You can use a small ice cream scoop for uniform size.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the macaroons are golden brown around the edges and lightly golden on top.
