Press the block of tofu between two plates or a tofu press for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water. This helps the tofu crisp up better.

Dice the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.

Place the tofu cubes into a medium bowl. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin. Mix thoroughly by hand or with a spatula until the tofu is evenly coated with the spices.

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large non-stick pan or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the seasoned tofu to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook, turning occasionally, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

Once cooked, remove the golden tofu from the pan and set it aside on a plate.

While the tofu cooks, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Whisk together until well combined and no lumps of cornstarch remain.

Add another 1 tablespoon of oil to the same pan used for the tofu. Add the chopped garlic, chopped onions, and chopped bell peppers to the pan.

Stir and cook the vegetables for 4-6 minutes, until they are tender-crisp.

Return the cooked tofu to the pan with the vegetables.

Give the sauce another quick whisk, then pour it over the tofu and vegetables in the pan.

Stir everything together continuously over medium heat until the sauce thickens and coats all the ingredients, about 2-3 minutes.

Serve the tofu stir-fry immediately in bowls, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
