Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a rectangular glass baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches).

In a large bowl, prepare the pancake batter according to package directions for 4 cups of mix. Typically, this involves combining the 4 cups of Hungry Jack Complete Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix with 3 cups of water, stirring until large lumps disappear.

Pour half of the prepared pancake batter evenly into the bottom of the greased baking dish.

Evenly distribute the cooked and drained breakfast sausage over the first layer of pancake batter.

Generously sprinkle the shredded medium cheddar cheese over the sausage layer.

Carefully pour the remaining half of the pancake batter over the cheese and sausage, ensuring it covers the layers as much as possible.

Drizzle 1/4 cup of maple syrup in a decorative pattern over the top of the casserole.

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and cooked through. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, with additional maple syrup on the side for dipping, if desired.
