In a bowl, combine 200 grams of almond flour, 200 grams of powdered sugar, and 200 grams of softened unsalted butter. Mix these ingredients until they are well combined and creamy.

Add 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to the mixture. Mix again until the frangipane is smooth and thoroughly combined.

Unroll one sheet of store-bought puff pastry onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Evenly spread the prepared almond frangipane over the entire surface of the puff pastry.

Carefully fold the puff pastry in half lengthwise, bringing one long edge over to meet the other.

Using a knife or a pizza cutter, make approximately 10-12 cuts perpendicular to the folded edge. Ensure to stop cutting about 1 inch (or 1.5-2 cm) from the unfolded edge, creating strips of pastry.

Starting from one end, take each strip and twist it a few times. Once all strips are twisted, gently braid them together to form a cohesive pastry shape. Pinch the ends of the braid together to seal them.

In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture generously over the entire surface of the braided Danish.

Sprinkle sliced almonds over the top of the Danish for added texture and flavor.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (180°C). Bake the Danish for 25 to 30 minutes, or until it turns a beautiful golden brown color.

Once baked, remove the Danish from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Before serving, dust generously with powdered sugar.
