In a large sauté pan or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the extra virgin olive oil and finely chopped garlic to the pan. Stir and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Add the angel hair pasta to the simmering liquid. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until some of the broth has been absorbed and the pasta is nearly al dente.

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

Remove the pan from the heat. Season with salt (add more if desired), Italian seasoning, and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Top with chopped Italian parsley before serving. Enjoy by itself or with optional additions like meatballs, sautéed chicken, or sautéed shrimp.
