Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the apples evenly.

Pour the apple mixture into an 8x8 inch baking dish.

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers, a pastry blender, or a fork to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the apple filling in the baking dish.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.

Let the crumble cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. It's delicious served warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
