Preheat a heavy-bottomed pan (cast iron or stainless steel works best) over high heat for 3-5 minutes. Add the cooking oil to the hot pan.

Carefully place the raw steaks into the hot pan. Do not season the steak at this stage. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until a deep brown crust forms and the steak reaches your desired doneness. Flip only once to ensure a good crust.

While the steak is cooking, prepare the herb mixture. On a clean cutting board, combine the chopped fresh herbs. Squeeze the juice from the lemon half over the herbs. Sprinkle a generous amount of freshly ground salt and black pepper (about 1 tablespoon each) over the mixture. Place the fresh butter on top of the herb mixture.

Once the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the pan using tongs. Immediately place the hot steak directly on top of the prepared herb, lemon, salt, pepper, and butter mixture on the cutting board.

Allow the steak to rest on the seasoned board for 5-10 minutes. As the steak cools, it will reabsorb its juices along with the flavors from the herb mixture, acting like a sponge.

After resting, slice the steak directly on the seasoned board. The juices from the steak will mingle with the herbs, lemon, salt, pepper, and melted butter, creating a flavorful sauce that coats each slice. Serve immediately.
