In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, honey, and minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced yellow onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes until slightly softened and fragrant.

Push the cooked onions to the center of the skillet, forming a small mound.

Carefully add the warm cooked white rice on top of the onions, creating a base in the center of the pan.

Arrange the thinly sliced beef around the rice and onion mound. Scatter the corn kernels and chopped green onions over the beef and rice. Place the butter pats on top of the rice.

Generously sprinkle the freshly ground black pepper over all the ingredients in the pan.

Pour the prepared sauce evenly over all the ingredients in the skillet.

Continue to cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the beef to cook and the sauce to heat through. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to mix all the ingredients together thoroughly in the hot pan, ensuring the beef is fully cooked and the rice is coated in sauce. Serve immediately.
