Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.

Cut the crusts off each slice of sandwich bread and set them aside. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice of bread.

In a medium bowl, beat the room temperature cream cheese until smooth. Mix in the egg and 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar until well combined.

Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture onto each flattened bread slice. Roll up each bread slice tightly.

Cut each rolled bread slice in half or thirds, depending on desired size. Place the cut rolls seam side down in the prepared baking dish.

Brush the rolls generously with the melted butter.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle this cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the rolls in the baking dish.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the sugar snails are golden brown and puffed. Serve warm.
