Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Line a small square tray with baking paper.

In a clean, dry bowl, whisk the egg whites until they reach stiff peaks.

Add the lemon juice (or lime juice) to the whisked egg whites and whisk briefly again to incorporate.

In a separate bowl, combine the cacao powder, chocolate protein powder, stevia or sweetener, and baking powder. Stir well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

Add the vanilla extract and unsweetened milk to the dry mixture. Stir thoroughly until it forms a thick, smooth paste.

Gently fold the wet chocolate paste into the whisked egg whites. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites too much, as this provides the brownie's structure.

Pour the combined mixture into the prepared small square tray. If desired, scatter chocolate chips evenly over the top of the mixture.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the tray from the oven and allow the brownie to cool completely in the tray before slicing and serving. This can take about 30 minutes to an hour.
