In a bowl, combine 50g of melted butter, 50g of brown sugar, and 50g of white sugar. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until they are well combined.

Add 1 egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.

Sift 100g of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda into the wet ingredient mixture.

Add 100g of chocolate chips to the bowl. Gently fold the ingredients together using a spatula until they are just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Scoop small balls of the chilled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Ensure there is enough space between each cookie for them to spread during baking.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
