In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Mix thoroughly until the beef is well coated. Set aside to marinate while you prepare other ingredients.

Steam the 1 cup of broccoli florets for 5 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Set aside.

In a separate small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1/4 cup of water until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the hot pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove the cooked beef from the pan and set it aside on a plate.

In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Pour in 1/2 cup of beef broth and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Once simmering, add the prepared sauce mixture to the pan, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.

Return the cooked beef to the pan with the thickened sauce. Add the steamed broccoli to the pan. Toss all ingredients together until the beef and broccoli are evenly coated with the sauce.

Serve hot over a bed of freshly cooked rice.
