Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it well.

In a large mixing bowl, crack the egg. Add the sugar and whisk the mixture thoroughly until it becomes pale, white, and creamy.

Pour in the oil and mix well until it is fully incorporated into the egg and sugar mixture.

Add the all-purpose flour and baking powder to the wet mixture. Mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough muffins.

Pour in the milk and add the vanilla extract. Mix well until the batter is smooth and all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to the batter. Mix gently with a spatula to distribute them throughout the batter.

Pour the prepared batter evenly into the individual muffin molds, filling each about two-thirds full.

Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top of each filled muffin mold for garnish.

Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the chocolate chip muffins from the oven. Let them cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.
