Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water.

While the pasta cooks, melt the unsalted butter in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Continue to cook the butter, stirring occasionally, until it turns a deeply golden color and smells nutty. This process typically takes about 5-7 minutes.

Once the butter is browned, add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Pour in the heavy cream and the reserved 1/2 cup of pasta water. Stir well to combine all ingredients, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Stir in the 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.

Add the cooked and drained pasta directly into the sauce in the pan. Toss thoroughly to coat the pasta evenly with the brown butter Alfredo sauce.

Transfer the pasta to serving dishes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and an additional sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
