In a large bowl, combine the cleaned and dried chicken wings, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, and cornflour. Mix all ingredients very well until the chicken wings are evenly coated.

Marinate the wings for at least 20–30 minutes at room temperature. For enhanced flavor, you can marinate them longer in the refrigerator.

Heat oil over medium heat in a deep frying pan or pot. Ensure there is enough oil for deep frying the wings.

Deep fry the marinated wings in batches for 6–8 minutes per batch, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking. Continue frying until the wings are golden brown, crispy, and fully cooked through.

Remove the fried wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

In a separate pan, melt the butter over low heat. Add 3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, honey, and the hot sauce (if desired, for added heat) to the melted butter.

Stir the sauce ingredients together and cook for 1–2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Add the previously fried chicken wings to the prepared honey BBQ sauce in the pan. Toss the wings gently until they are thoroughly and evenly coated with the sauce.

Transfer the coated chicken wings to a serving plate. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for garnish before serving.
