In a medium bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Mix thoroughly until the shrimp is evenly coated with the seasonings.

Heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp is opaque and cooked through.

Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and transfer it to a separate bowl. Set aside.

Using the same pan, reduce the heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sliced jalapeño. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the garlic is fragrant and the jalapeño has softened slightly.

Stir in 1 tablespoon of honey and the juice of one lime into the pan. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix all the sauce ingredients together and let it simmer gently for about 1 minute.

Return the cooked shrimp to the pan with the garlic butter sauce. Add the chopped cilantro and chili flakes. Toss everything together to ensure the shrimp is well coated with the sauce.

Serve the Jalapeño Shrimp in Garlic Butter Sauce hot, optionally over a bed of rice.
