Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet.

Brush both sides of each bread slice with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
Remove the bread from the oven. While still warm, rub one side of each toasted bread slice with the cut side of the garlic clove.

Evenly layer the sliced Roma tomatoes over the garlic-rubbed side of each bread slice. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

Place the fresh mozzarella slices over the tomatoes, then sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese.

Return the tartines to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Carefully remove from the oven. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and, if desired, a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Serve immediately.
