Add the chopped cabbage to the bottom of a large slow cooker.

Layer the diced potatoes on top of the cabbage.

Distribute the chopped onion over the potatoes.

Place the whole link of smoked sausage on top of the vegetables.

Pour the reduced-sodium chicken broth over all the ingredients in the slow cooker.

Sprinkle the steak seasoning evenly over the contents of the slow cooker.

Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the sausage into smaller, bite-sized pieces directly in the slow cooker.

Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on the high setting for 4 hours, or on the low setting for 8 hours, until the potatoes are tender.

Once cooked, stir the contents well to combine all the ingredients. Serve hot.
