Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large white baking dish, arrange the sliced white onions in an even layer.

Add a layer of sliced red onions on top of the white onions. Tuck the unpeeled garlic cloves among the onions.

Drizzle olive oil generously over the onions and garlic.

Sprinkle the red spice, dried herbs, and salt evenly over the onions. Grind fresh black pepper over everything.

Add dollops of softened cream cheese (or mascarpone) evenly over the seasoned onions.

Using a spoon, thoroughly mix all the ingredients in the baking dish until the onions are well coated with the oil, seasonings, and cream cheese.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the onions are deeply caramelized, very soft, and reduced, and the creamy ingredient has melted and integrated. The garlic cloves should also be very soft.

While the onions are baking, cook the farfalle pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Remove the baking dish from the oven. Carefully squeeze the soft flesh of the baked garlic cloves directly into the caramelized onions. Discard the garlic skins.

Add the chopped fresh parsley, balsamic glaze (or vinegar), and chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the baking dish.

Add the cooked farfalle pasta directly into the baking dish with the onion mixture.

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients with a spoon until the pasta is fully coated with the creamy, rich onion sauce and all components are well combined.

Serve immediately and enjoy your Creamy Oven Baked Onion Pasta!
