Preheat the oven to 350°F.

To a microwave-safe bowl, add the 1 cup of melted butter and 1 cup of dark chocolate. Microwave for 30-40 seconds, then stir until the butter and chocolate are fully combined into a smooth, dark liquid.

Add the 4 eggs and 3/4 cup granulated sugar to the chocolate mixture. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Next, add the 1/4 cup plus 1 teaspoon of all-purpose flour and 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the bowl. Mix until all dry ingredients are fully incorporated and the batter is thick and smooth.

Lightly spray a small baking dish with sprayable oil. Pour 1/4 of the prepared batter into the dish. The remaining batter can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week and baked later as desired.

Bake the lava cake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of gooeyness. The edges should be set, but the center should still be soft.

Carefully remove the lava cake from the oven. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve immediately with a scoop of ice cream.
