Ensure your ground beef is cooked and drained of any excess fat. If not already cooked, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no pink remains, then drain well.

In a 6-quart or larger slow cooker, combine the cooked ground beef, chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, beef broth, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Stir everything together until well combined.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours, or on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the cabbage is tender.

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in the cauliflower rice (or your rice of choice). Continue cooking until the rice is tender.

Ladle the unstuffed cabbage soup into bowls. Serve hot, garnished with a dollop of sour cream or cottage cheese for extra protein, if desired.
