Peel the carrots. You can leave them whole, halve them, or cut them into smaller pieces depending on your preference and the size of the carrots.

Place the peeled carrots in a medium to large saucepan or pot.

Add enough cold water to the pan to just cover the carrots.

Add the butter, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt to the pan with the carrots and water.

Place the pan over high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

Reduce the heat to medium-high and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until all the water has evaporated. This process will allow the sugar and butter to create a glaze.

Once the water has evaporated, continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the carrots are tender and beautifully caramelized, coated in a glossy, slightly sticky glaze. Be careful not to burn them.

Remove from heat and serve immediately as a delicious side dish.
