In a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium-high heat.

Add the diced sweet onion to the skillet and sauté for 3-5 minutes, until it becomes slightly translucent and softened.

Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Break it up with a spoon and cook until it is fully browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.

Pour the entire jar of spaghetti sauce into the skillet. Add about 1/2 cup of beef broth to the empty spaghetti sauce jar, secure the lid, and shake it well to rinse out any remaining sauce. Add this mixture to the skillet.

Add the remaining beef broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir everything together to combine.

Add the spaghetti noodles to the skillet, breaking them in half if necessary to fit. Gently push them down to ensure they are fully submerged in the liquid. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the noodles are al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

When the noodles have about 5 minutes left to cook (around the 10-minute mark of simmering), add the cubed cream cheese to the skillet. Stir gently until the cream cheese begins to melt and incorporate into the sauce.

Once the noodles are completely cooked and tender, remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the sour cream until well combined and creamy.

Serve the spaghetti hot. You can either place dollops of ricotta cheese on top of each serving or stir the ricotta directly into the pot for a more uniform creaminess. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley.
