Place the dried cuttlefish in a microwave-safe dish. Add 3 tablespoons of mirin and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Microwave for 1 minute to soften.

Once microwaved, carefully remove the cuttlefish and cut it into bite-sized pieces using kitchen shears or a knife.

In a medium pan, combine the sauce ingredients: 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 3 tablespoons of water, 2 tablespoons of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of chilli powder, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of corn syrup, and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.

Place the pan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally to ensure all ingredients are well combined and the sugar has dissolved.

Once the sauce is boiling, immediately turn off the heat. Add the prepared dried cuttlefish to the pan and mix thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated with the spicy sauce.

Finish the dish by drizzling 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over the cuttlefish and generously sprinkling with sesame seeds. Toss one last time to distribute.
