Preheat your oven to 180°C. Select a baking dish large enough to comfortably hold all ingredients.

Add the two packs of gnocchi directly into the baking dish. There is no need to boil them first.

Pour the 600 ml of cream over the gnocchi, ensuring they are mostly submerged.

Sprinkle the French onion soup mix evenly over the cream and gnocchi. If using, add the minced garlic, spinach, and sliced mushrooms or any other desired fridge items at this stage.

Gently mix all the ingredients together in the baking dish until well combined. Ensure the gnocchi are coated and the soup mix is distributed.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. This helps to steam the gnocchi and prevent the top from drying out.

Bake the covered gnocchi in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Remove the foil.

Evenly sprinkle the cooked and crumbled bacon and the shredded cheese over the gnocchi mixture.

Return the uncovered dish to the oven and continue to bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your lazy gnocchi bake!
