In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.

Add the all-purpose flour, olive oil, and salt to the bowl with the yeast mixture.

Using a spatula or spoon, mix all the ingredients until a shaggy dough forms and no dry spots of flour remain in the bowl.

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured countertop or work surface. Knead the dough by hand for approximately 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Lightly grease a clean bowl with olive oil. Place the kneaded dough into the bowl, turning it once to ensure it is coated with oil on all sides. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has visibly doubled in size.

Once the dough has completed its first rise, lightly grease a sheet pan with olive oil. Generously sprinkle the bottom of the greased pan with cornmeal for dusting.

Transfer the risen dough to the prepared sheet pan. Gently use your hands to press and stretch the dough, working from the center outwards, until it covers the entire pan. If the dough resists stretching, allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes to relax the gluten, then continue stretching.

Once the dough is stretched to the desired shape in the pan, add your preferred pizza toppings. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Bake the pizza for approximately 16 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove the pizza from the oven, slice, and serve.
