Add 1 cup of rice to the pot of a rice cooker.

Pour 3 tablespoons of soy sauce directly onto the rice in the pot.

Add 2 tablespoons of mirin to the pot.

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar (or less, to your preference) to the pot.

Pour in 100 ml of water.

Add 140 ml of dashi to the pot.

Layer the 1 sliced onion on top of the liquid and rice mixture in the pot.

Place your desired amount of beef shabu shabu on top of the onions.

Close the lid of the rice cooker.

Select the 'Japanese Rice' cooking function (or standard white rice setting) on your rice cooker and start it.

Once the rice cooker has finished cooking and switched to 'keep warm' mode, open the lid.

Top the cooked gyudon with chopped spring onions.

Crack 3 onsen eggs directly over the gyudon.

Serve hot and enjoy your lazy Sukiya Gyudon!
