In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, softened butter, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they are well combined and form a smooth, spreadable paste.

Take each slice of white bread and spread the prepared cheese mixture evenly on one side.

Heat a large pan or griddle over medium-low heat on the stovetop.

Once the pan is heated, place the bread slices into the pan with the cheese mixture-side down. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the bottom side is golden brown and crispy.

While the bread is cooking, preheat your broiler. Once the bottom of the bread is golden brown, carefully transfer the bread slices to a broiler-safe pan or baking sheet, with the cheese side facing up.

Broil the bread for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the cheese topping is bubbly, melted, and golden brown. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.

Remove from the broiler and serve immediately while hot and the cheese is still gooey.
